does the noise happen when you create a patch or just when the app is open?
just when the app is open and i've turned on compute audio
That's weird unusual problem. Can you post a very short recording of it, listening might help to identify something. Does it change if you load the CPU with more programs?
Do you get it with any other audio programs? More info on platform/hardware and Pd build would help too.

hello,
i just wanted to say that i have the same problem with pd running on my powerbook (osx). i just had a check up but nothing seemed to be wrong with the hardware. i also tried various pd versions but always had the same problem. the sound is like a clock ticking in a real noisy way.
Does the beep come from the audio jack? Or does it come from the computer itself, so that you can hear it when speakers are connected but switched off?
I get a similar (but very very quiet) bleeping from the audio jack when I use accelerated 3D stuff - that is on an Asus laptop with ATI graphics running Linux.
Oops! Looks like something went wrong!
