I have opened this file in Pd using File / Open.

I am getting another window where this file is opened.

I need assistance to solve the following problem:

1. How can I play now?

2. How to play this MIDI scale (60, 62, 64, 66, 68, 70, 72, 72, 70, 68, 66, 64, 62, 60) using karplus-strong algorithm?

Hi Deb - this will work - just type the notes you want in the message boxes at the top. Click on the boxes to play the notes. The highest note you can play with this patch is midi note 76 - after that the delay is too short.

If you have more questions you should post them in the 'technical issues' part of this forum.

May I request you one more assistance please before I post in the technical issues.

When I am clicking on the individual boxes, it makes sound as if coming out of a plucked string. That's the thing I am really looking for.

Now, how can I play an array of midi notes (33, 45, 57, 69, 71, 73, 74, 76, 77, 78, 80) as a pattern not as an individual? The flow is moving forward automatically as per the midi notes are given.

Hi Deb - one last post in the wrong place - maybe someone could move this. A select sequencer is simple to make - there is one attached - look at how it works and you can change it around. I changed the way the [expr] object is calculating frequency to something that makes more sense to me - it sounds close to being in tune. I can't get a frequency above midi note 76 - the pitch is set by the time it takes for a delay loop and I can't get it to less than about 1.45 ms (64 samples) - I think it can be done though.

HI Simon,
you need to put the delay blocks into a subpatch and put a [block~ 1] inside it. This will effectively reduce the block size to 1 sample and allow smaller delays in the feedback loop. Check the G04.control.blocksize example.

Amazing. I tried all kinds of things to get the higher notes, including pitchshift~ (shudder). All I had to add was the new block~ object! So simple.
