does PD support multiple MME sound cards ? for example, can I use 3 seperate sound cards to create a 6 or 8 channel setup? I have some stereo channel sound cards lying around and I'd like to use them together. I am not concerned about latency.

Hi Bert,

You don't specify your platform so I'm not sure. If you are using Jack then yes it's fairly easy, create a [dac~ 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8] object and you will have 8 outputs that are enumerated pure_data_0:output0 ... pure_data_0:output7 in Jack, which you can then route to any sound device your system can detect. If for Windows maybe a Win expert will have the answer for you.

pd supports multiple soundcards directly (at least with oss, i never tested this with alsa): just specify them like "-audiodev 0,1,2"
