I have a project that i would like to develop for my MA practice.
I am connecting a numeric keypad to arduino and then i would like to associate each key to a song or list of songs.
Which music player should i use? And how to connect arduino and the music player on PD?

What do you want to use Pd for? To interface the arduino with a 3rd party music player?

elva, why don't you want to build the music player IN pd? that's what it's for!

I'm new to PureData, i have very little knowledge on what i can or cannot do..

But thank you for the tip, I will try and find some information on how to build a music player on PD.

I'm not really sure about conecting the arduino, I really want to get into that stuff actually, but this will probably make some sense to you:

then once set up...

look in the help file for [tabplay~] for how to load in sound files (into tables) and play them out.

p.s. tables and arrays are the same thing, incase the nomenclature confuses you.

Here's a sample player abstraction of mine. Check out the help file to try it out. The easiest way to use it in a project is to put bb_sample.pd in the same folder as your project file, then you can call it by creating an object called [bb_sample].

If you're loading larger files and getting an error about the table being truncated to 4000000 elements, you may need to add "-maxsize <maximum_number_of_samples>" to the "read -resize $1 $2-sample" message being sent to [soundfiler].
