Hide objects
Hello,
I'm very new on Pd, and i'd like to know if, as in Max, we can hide objects ( or messages, etc), in locked patches.
Thank you,
F.
You can hide objects, but not in the same way Max does it. In Pd, you use GOP (Graph on Parent). In a subpatch, right-click the background and open the patch's properties. Check the Graph on Parent box. When you hit OK, you will see a red rectangle. Most objects other than message boxes and comments will be visible in the parent patch if they are within the rectangle. Anything outside the box will be hidden away. You can also do this with abstractions, similar to bpatchers in Max.
comments are visible too
only massages and connections become invisible
pd redefining mathematics |expr fact(0)|==0
Oops, you're right.
OK, thank you, i'll work in this way.

i don't whether gop has advantages, but i got used to only using send/receive for every gui i need.
i always fill in both immediately with the receive value having an "_r" on the end.
it makes it easier for me to send preset-style parameter sets and makes big patches more uncluttered.
nothing worse, than dozens of wires intersecting to a black moiree when patching.
@_@
but then again, last time i used gop, it was still lacking this red frame field and positioning was seemed like sourcery.
Oops! Looks like something went wrong!
