I know that there are many topics with [readsf~] problems...
But I didn't understand how to solve:

The result is a great noise and the Pd-window says:
"error: dsp: <path/name.aif>: unknown or bad header format"
I use the wrong object or I must convert the aif into something else?

This is a problem with the soundfile. The header is formatted in a way that Pd doesn't understand. I've had this problem when saving .aif files with Peak Pro. I can't remember exactly how I solved it (and I can't test it right now, either), but try opening the file in Audacity or something and resaving it, maybe even in .wav format.

I had regular problems in Pd with .aif files of various origins under OS X and I recall the 'great noise' you describe. I resolved to use .wav throughout - like Maelstorm I use Audacity to do the quick conversion.

In my case, exporting a wav file through audacity doesn't resolve... That strange.
I'll try something... If I resolve, I'll post how-to.
