How to trigger ableton clips??

hi, im new in pure data. i would like to do a panel with 8 vslider 3 knobs for each vslider and a 8x8 buttons to trigger ableton clips.

for vsliders and knobs i use ctlout object. but to trigger ableton clips dont work and i dont know the problem. when i use ctlout to trigger clips the midi recieve in ableton dont stop and the clip start and start and start continualy.

please if any can share a patch to trigger clips i would be appreciate. thanxxx

I'm still new to PD myself, but it sounds like you may need to filter your MIDI data... for the 8x8 grid I think you can use a [makenote] and send that to a [noteout] so that you can send "note on" and "note off" messages to trigger the ableton clips better. The [ctlout] would be used to send the CC messages (0-127).

Make sure that the "button" or bang is sending a number on the left inlet of [makenote]

Since you are using ableton I'm assuming you're on windows...so make sure you have your mapping setup inbetween PD and ableton.

PD midi out--> midi yoke IN1--> midi yoke OUT1---> ableton midi in

I working on patches that interface with my Korg PadKontrol so I pulled out a piece that might help you out... this is just for sending out note data, if you what to send CC data (to control the sliders in ableton) then use [ctlout] instead of [noteout]

Tested it and it works here, with Ableton 8 on Windows.
I set the channel in your patch to 1, the output channel in PD to MidiYoke output 1 and I can trigger clips.

If you see Midi coming into Live, but you still cannot trigger clips, check if you have switched on the "remote"-option for the your MidiYoke input.

AFAIK you cannot control the volume of the clips through velocity - if you want to do so, you would have to map this info to a Midi CC.
