Hello!

I have been having some troubles with my PD-Extended. Every time I start working in any patch it quits.
I have installed it a few times now, and it's not working well. I even copied a version from a friend that works fine in his computer, but in mine it quits.

It has been quitting, before I installed SympleSynth, and after.

My MAC information is:

Version 10.5.8
Processor: 2.5GHz Intel Conre 2 Duo
Memory: 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Have you deleted your preferences file(s)? if so, then unfortunately it's clearly not a PD thing and you will want to look at your OS for a solution (could be a good time to spring clean that dusty OS)

But I don't recall deleting any preference folder.
I will try downloading it again, and see what happens.

In OS X the preferences are found in
~/Library/Preferences/org.puredata.pd.plist
~/Library/Preferences/org.puredata.pd.wish.plist

If you delete* this files it will reset all your PD settings (audio device, midi, added libraries, etc)

*try backing them up first.

also make sure you're running the latest pd-extended - i had an older version installed that started crashing whenever i opened a gemwin and started rendering - i installed the latest and it worked fine.

alternatively, try installing pd-vanilla and see if you still have the crashing issue - if so it could be a problem with pd and your machine, if not then that means it's just an issue with pd-extended. if pd-vanilla works i would say try pd-extended with no libs and add them one at a time until you figure out which one is causing the crashes (if this is even the case).

I did all you guys told me to do, and nothing worked.
I tried a bunch of other things, like installing:

xcode321
X11-2.4.0
ServerAdminTools10.4

Although my computer already had all this installed, I tried anyways, and didn't work either. I stop trying or opening PD for at least 3 weeks or so and miraculously works now. Inexplicable miracle!

look at the debugging information wich OS provides, maybe you'll find a conficting kext or something
