i like the perks of running pd in linux, can anyone direct me toward easy to follow instructions on running bootcamp on my mac (osx 1o.4 for linux not windows?

ASFAIK, you don't need bootcamp. Try rEFIt:

And studio 64, if it works for you, can boot off of a cd or thumb drive.

off-topic, but some (ie. me) may find this useful: while mac can't boot osx from usb-drive (why, or why!!?), it CAN boot os9 from such drive using the classic mode..

very handy if you still need some os9 software about once a month..
