has anyone tried to use pd in your guitar effects loop? whilst playing live i mean..
and if you have, do have have like another guy sitting and hitting the toggle switch when you need the effect, or is there some kind of footpedal one can use?

You can control Pd via a footswtch that outputs Midi information, or an expression pedal to control a range change (rather like with a volume or wah-wah).

I converted an old USB game controller into a footswitch board with switches I bought from a local hardware store. I basically took the circuitry that converts button presses to USB info and tapped it over to a box with the footpresses that act as buttons. Pd gets the keypresses from USB and executes certain effect actions based on which footswitches I hit and in what order.

you can rip out the pots an stick in potentiometers or a jack to plug in an expression pedal and get the wa-wa control, only with 2-4 expression pedals/ pots/ resistive sensors etc.
