I'm gearing up for a vj show, and for reasons won't go into right now, I'm using pd/gem in a windowsXP environment. For my show, I'd like to give a wireless gyromouse to a dancer so she can control aspects of the video, but I don't want her to actually control the cursor on the screen (as I will need to control the patches at the same time). I plan on using [hid] for the mouse interaction.

anyone know a method for this? useful resources to point me to? I consider myself a XPnoob, fyi.

argh! no [hid] on XP. Help!

take a look at GlovePie.

Windows uses [hidin], but for whatever reason Microsoft doesn't let you access the mouse and keyboard as a HID. So, yeah, you'd probably have to use something non-Pd like GlovePIE.
