Hi Everyone,

I just d/l'ed both PD 0.42-4 and PD 0.40.3. Both versions launch and open a console window, but within just a few seconds, the console window disappears and the program has halted without any other notification.

Im running Mac OS X 10.4.11 on a MacBookPro with 4Gb of Ram.

Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

Post the output of the console. It's in /Applications/Utilities/

Hi

I'm am experiencing almost the same problem in that PD crashes instantly upon start up but the console log just prints:

GetUtfFaceName: unexpected nativeName

each time...

Have tried Pd-0.42-4 as well as Pd-0.41.4 and get the same response...

Also runing 10.4.11

Has anyone else seen this?

Just in case anyone else has a similar problem to me...

It seems I'm only having trouble selecting the MBox with Pd 0.42-4. The previous two releases haven't been causing me any troubles so far with the MBox.

that's because it's NOT extended... the pd vanilla version is always a few minor updates advanced. actually, you can download vanialla 0.42.5 on puredata.info.

In relation to the post above regarding the following error message when launching Pd:

GetUtfFaceName: unexpected nativeName

I had this problem and it was driving me up the wall. In the end it turned out that a desktop Twitter app called Seesmic was renaming or moving something in the font directory (or something like that) so Pd couldn't find what it was looking for. So try restarting your machine and then turning on all the apps you usually use in the background one by one while launching Pd.

Hope that helps.
