Hi everybody,
I've been rewiring USB keyboards to lay the switches out in a grid arrangement. I'm using PD on Xubuntu linux.

I know one can grab keystrokes in PD and I like it as a input methods. So I'm wondering if there is a way to use/grab keystrokes from multiple USB keyboards. Surely one can isolate the port number or something to differentiate between the keyboards? Is this possible? Also what about grabbing different simultaneous key presses?

I'd really like to avoid having to return to windows just to use glovePIE (which can isolate extra leyboards) and then make the respective keys each then send unique OSC commands.

Does anybody have any answers for me? I'm quite stuck so I'll appreciate any input that might get me closer to this idea.

look into USB HID, I think there is [hid] but I never used it myself..

I could be wrong, but I think if you use [hid] you can access multiple keyboards through it. It's a little trickier than using [key], though.

hey campbell, i'm sorry but i don't really have any answers to your questions but glovePIE looks like a very interesting app. i'm on winxp an i've been trying to connect multiple keboards without succes. but this application seems promissing to use with OSC indeed.
