If I make a patch on a Mac, should my friend be able to open it on a PC? The reason I ask is because it didn't work on his. (It opened but got a bunch of error messages. I think it was saying 'spigot' was missing... weird.)

Just wondering if there's anything in particular that might be causing it to not function properly... (aside from maybe missing spigot. i'm talking about going from one platform to the other.)

that external was made by someone who refuses to support windows, thinks bill gates is the devil incarnate, etc.

here's an abstraction that does the same thing. just put it in the same folder as your patch, or in one of pd's paths ('extra' etc).

other than that, pd should work cross-platform in most cases. it's usually externals that give hiccups though.
