I made a patch ("The_Omega_Man") based on ding's "matte_test" (http://puredata.hurleur.com/sujet-868-help-masking-goes-wih-other-geos-gem). In this patch a geo masks another geo using OpenGL objects. It works fine, but OpenGL is too difficult for me and for my students, and the target is to build an easy tutorial for "masking using geos in gem". Can I make the same effect of my patch using something like [pix_snap2tex] or something else? Can I convert geos into pix and then use [pix_mask]? Please, help me.

Nobody? C'mon guys... Help me please! You are the pure-heroes and many little-little schooboys are waiting for a new easy-easy italian tutorial on puredata!

It sounds like you have the right idea. Convert the geos to pics and them mask them as such. I've never personally gotten it to work to my satisfaction. You have to be very finnicky about the rendering order, and the geos you want to mask has to be "behind the scenes" as it were.

Right... This is the idea, but up to now my attempts don't work. nestor, when you say "behind the scenes", do you mean using [gemhead 1...49]...something like that? Or something else?
-
Yeah, using render order or depth(z).
-
hi you can specify the render order of gemheads by supplying an argument like:
[gemhead 5]
