I'm working in OSX, and I'd like to use fiddle~ to output MIDI notes to Logic and Reaktor using an IAC bus. I've lost all my work since I last approached this project, so I can't even remember how I was going about it.

Ideally, I'd like fiddle~ to receive input from my electric bass or microphone and convert either signal into discrete MIDI notes. I'll basically be limited to the highest couple of strings, which is fine. It would be fantastic if I could somehow transmit the pure pitch of a performance (with bends and microtones) to my softsynths. I haven't fully investigated the possibilities for micro-tones in Reaktor, and I'm fairly certain that Logic will only recognize integers as MIDI note messages. Maybe with Logic I could simply use the output of fiddle~ to influence the semitone and cent knobs of a particular synth while sending the same MIDI note with each noteon.

In any case, I'm interested in everyone's ideas on this patch. If you know how I might make this happen from a technical position, or if you have any feature suggestions, speak up!

Yeah, now that I'm working on it, I'm seeing as much. I imagine that I'll have to do a lot of calibration to get things working smoothly. Before I'm there, though, I need to deal with a really nasty amount of latency. What's up with that? I have Pd and Reaktor running, and I've got the IAC bus receiving notes from fiddle~, and there's like, a quarter second of latency. Fiddle~ bangs almost instantly when I play a note, so something must be happening with the IAC. Anyone?
