I can get the program to display that it's receiving input by enabling 'compute audio' and 'peak meters' and adjusting my audio settings. When I go to 'test audio and midi', I can hear myself if I enable monitor. However, I have no idea how to get any output when I actually have a pd file open. The output level reads zero, no matter what I do.

What should I do? When I open a pd file, is there something I have to click to make it process and output audio, or is there some hardware incompatibilities or something wrong with my various pieces of software. DIO error displays 7 unknown errors. Does this have anything to do with my problem? I'm running on Windows XP, for what it's worth

Assuming that you are new to this...

Yes, you have to click the "Compute Audio" box on the upper-right side of the main Pd window.

And, within your patch itself, you also need to output the audio with a dac~ object (digital to audio).
