i'm curious about which audio interfaces you've had success with and what methods you've used to connect the less compatible interfaces.

in addition, i'm considering picking up an Mbox 2 Pro for some other projects, but haven't used it with pd yet. Anyone know if the issues people had back with the first Mbox have been resolved yet?

any thoughts would be appreciated! thanks

What are the less compatible interfaces?

What OS are you using? - will have a big effect on compatibility.

The Mbox uses it's own Digi Audio Driver (or whatever it's called) it had a tendency to crash, but otherwise works fine.

Which Mbox issues? - it was years ago, Of course some have been resolved, but without specifying I can not tell you which.

Personally, I'd stay away from the mBox, there are better value and better sounding and more capable boxes out there. If you NEED the limited Protools software, then that's another matter...

After you asked about my OS, I did some research and it looks like my OS is going to be the main problem, not pd. The laptop I was hoping to run an audio interface on is running XP Media Center, which is pretty much void of compatibility with most audio interfaces (Digidesign, M-Audio, MOTU, RME and just about everything else). "Media Center" is a bit misleading. I'll be steering clear off of this OS in the future. ..
