I installed Pd version 0.40.3 on my UBUNTU-STUDIO Hardy computer.
On start up I get the error messages:
cyclone: can't load library
zexy: can't load library
creb: can't load library
iemlib: can't load library

I found the answer myself:
The Pd installation file .pdsettings (located it the home directory) had wrong path set. This is confusing because the installation program did the mess-up.
With the correct settings one can start PD without any error messages.

and i use PD 0.40.3 extended on OSX 10.4.11

I have this problem too on OSX. For OSX you can edit file org.puredata.pd.default.plist, which is in your Pd-extended package in your Applications folder, but it won't help anyway because there are no *.pd_darwin or *.d_ppc files in PD application package for OSX.
