Although I haven't tried this myself, It seems that it would be fairly easy to install Pd-extended on a netbook if you've installed something like one of the Ubuntu netbook variants such as eeebuntu, the official Ubuntu netbook remix or what have you. Then one could just add the new Pd-extended repository to their Synaptic software sources.
I've been thinking about the MSI Wind, but the new Dell Inspiron 13 is looking rather nice as well. Not a netbook, but still smallish...

I've just confirmed my suspicions: I bought the MSI Wind and installed UbuntuStudio without much incident. Installing Pd-extended as well. Haven't had a chance to to give Pd a really good workout yet, though. I'm expecting it to perform about as well as the old X41 Thinkpad I was borrowing from work. Both use single-core 1.6 GHz processors, and the Thinkpad worked fairly well.
