webcam to trigger several midi/osc notes

hi everyone i would like to know if is there a way to make a webcam trigger several midi notes according to the motion it detects in the different areas of the screen

Personally this sort of thing is the main reason why I'm using processing and pure data and switch between both programs. At the moment I prefer using processing to do the webcam, motion detection part. Osc provides pd with the parameters from processing and does the sound and other interaction part.

If you would like to see how it works I can post some sketches and patches later.

But I know some people have figured out a way to motion detection completely in pd and I'm also really interested how it works.
