How can I find out what midiindev I have to use?
Thank you a lot.

PD midiindev what number?
-
if you add this line :
-listdev %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
to your startup pd file (.pdrc or pd.bat or pd.command), you will see all your devices.
after you add -middindev 4, if your midi device is 4.
If it doesn't appear with this command line, it's not recognized ...
Is it help you ? -
Hi!
Please interrupt me when I'm wrong.
Normally PD uses OSS Midi. ALSA maps the ALSA mididevices to the OSS devices. It seams that this doesn't really work: If I run:
pd -listdev
I get:
input devices:
1. OSS device #1
output devices:
1. OSS device #1
API number 2
no midi input devices found
no midi output devices found
Opened Alsa Client 128 in:1 out:1
How do I have to interpret the putput?
Thanks you so far.
