I'm in the middle of my final year project for uni and I'm using PD and GEM to create it. What my plan is, is to have a series of video clips changing from users voice input (which I've managed to get working fine). My problems is getting the transitions between the video clips to cross fade if possible so the transition doesn't look so jumpy.

Can anyone help me with this please?

have two video players connected textured on two rectangles, then play with the transparency (rightmost inlet of [colorRGB]). you might have to have the videos at slightly different depths to avoid weird artifacting though

If you trig a [line] with something like [1, 0 500( on the previous video transparency param and another [line] with the opposite [0, 1 500( on the next video, this each time a new video has to be triggered you should get what you want. Change 500 according the crossfade time you need.

You can also use [pix_mix]. Only problem with that is if there is no video signal coming in the left side then nothing will display (even if you are panned all the way right anyhow).
