im wondering if pd contains an object similar to max/msp:s scale-object?

or if there is a way to transform a string of numbers to an inverted string of numbers.
say: 0 - 127 to 127 - 0.
my goal is to make a dry/wet-slider.
am i to fuzzy?

You can simply adjust the bottom and top properties of the slider (right click -> properties).

there isn't an object as such, but you could roll your own (abstraction)

• does this make sense? You'll probably want to be normalizing this to 1 for the audio domain

the sliders still show the same number its just the marker on the slider that gets inverted.

i need an object that really transform a series of numbers to another series of numbers. like 0 - 127 to 127 - 0.
or 0 - 127 to -1 - 1.
so that when you input 0 - 127 you get out values between -1 - 1 or what ever scale you choose.

how can i scale a list of floats between 0 and 255 to a list of floats between 0 and 1?

There's also the [m_scale] object in the rjlib that does this automatically based on the arguments you give it. For example:

[m_scale 0 255 0 1] will scale an input range of 0-255 to an output range of 0-1

[maxlib/scale] is a replica of Max's scale object.

unfortunately both [maxlib/scale] and [range] are seriously bugged...
I discovered that trying to invert a range of numbers: [maxlib/scale 0 1 1 0] only outputs 1.
Then I found this old bug report: https://sourceforge.net/p/pure-data/bugs/670/

[autoscale] (extended) and [m_scale] (rjdjlib) do that
