In this patch from the practicals of the book Designing sound, the wind behaves randomly, any ideas of how to have more control on the gusts?, I need to trigger them with a bang for my main patch. Thanks.

Help with a patch from Designing Sound

The 'gust' part you seem to wish to control is inside the [pd gust] subpatch, inside the [pd windspeed] subpatch. It is driven by an [osc~] object running at 0.1 Hz. That's not random. But you could have a control pausing the [osc~] by setting it's frequency to 0 and starting it again by setting it's frequency to 0.1 (or whichever sounds nice to you), or you could substitute the [osc~] with a [line~] or [vline~] driven by bangs and messages, maybe add random amplitudes, or have a handful of different messages making the signal go where you want it taking the time you want it to. You can shape the lines to be sinusiod too if it suits you.
But the question is, what exactly do you want to control? There are a bunch of parameters you can easily tweak using a send inside the main patch and a recieve inside the relevant subpatch.
"the wind behaves randomly"
Don't expect anything built on [noise~] objects to act predictably. Also, when was the last time you experienced predictable wind?
