Roads discusses looping a area of a sample for the facility to sustain a sound. Is it possble to do this how he instructs, in that theres an att then decay then sustain and looping going on here before the release. Has anyone explored this with pd . I was hoping to get some thoughts as to what to consider to develop this idea from this sampler from the tutorial patchs so far

The sample is triggered and the left side and right side of the sample are calulcated just with a + 0.001 difference. the 0.001 is what continues to loop acting as the sustain. but its not clear as to how to blur the edges for a smooth loop?

What sound are you trying to extend? If it is just any old sample, then it's going to be very hard to identify the starting and stopping point of the wavelength. You could use a Hanning window to smooth the edges, but it's not likely to sound the way you want.
