If I look around, I get the impression that Ofelia is gone, and GEM is used for graphics with PD again.
My question is: Is this, because development stopped (or paused), or because it seems to complicated?
I know, I am biased, because meanwhile I got used to Open Frameworks, so it is quite easy to handle Ofelia for me (and I also started to update and expand Ofelia). And I think, it has much more possibilities compared to GEM.

Ofelia vs GEM

@Jona I think because it seems too complicated.

@Jona Although I don't use graphics in Pd much, when I do Gem has enough help for me to get by, and Brian Chang's Ebook is indispensable....... https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/topic/12033/multimedia-programming-with-pure-data
I have to use Pd Extended though as Gem doesn't work well in 64-bit Vanilla on my machine.
And "Extended View" has most of what I need already implemented, although it needs some elements of Vanilla to work properly......... https://github.com/extendedview/extended_view_toolkitSo I have intended, since @60Hz published help files, to get to grips with Ofelia when I have the spare time.
Those help files need more promotion if Ofelia is to attract more users....... https://github.com/60-hz/Ofelia-Fast-Prototyping
Let's hope @60Hz is still using Ofelia and will build help files for your recent extensions........ https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/topic/14714/ofxofeliaextendedI think the reality is that Gem has been around for a very long time, and so has a much bigger pool of users than Ofelia has so far managed to attract..... the early starter advantage.....

Even though I like Ofelia a lot, and I do use openFrameworks myself, I think the Ofelia version where it came as a single object where you could load your Lua scripts was more of a drawback, sine Pd users are accustomed to visual programming, and the first Ofelia versions that came with binaries (objects) for all sorts of stuff was more in the Pd philosophy.
That being said, together with my next-to-nothing Lua capabilities, I prefer to use openFrameworks instead. If all has to be Pd, then I'd probably go for Gem. Don't get me wrong, I was super excited when Ofelia launched, and @60Hz's abstraction brought this Gem feel to Ofelia, but I don't know why it has stopped being developed/maintained by @cuinjune. I do think that @Jona getting to take it up is also great news though.
