So I'm new to PD, and am having problems getting the program to run on my 2011 Macbook Air running OSX 10.11.1. I've tried the 32 and 64 bit versions from Miller Puckette's site and the vanilla and extended versions from the PD community site. Also tried deleting the saved application states as recommended in the faq, no change. Still won't open.
When I try to open PD in terminal I get:

"ERROR: failed to allocate port, exiting!
logout
Saving session...
...copying shared history...
...saving history...truncating history files...
...completed."

I'm excited about the program and this is such a bummer. Help!
Thank you!
James
