I've used PD on Mac before,
now I'm running ubuntu linux 6.06(Dapper) on my amd64,
I followed the instruction and successfully installed
the pd-extension package, but when running it for the first time,
here is what I got:

pd: error while loading shared libraries: libjack-0.80.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

And i checked the libjack on my ubuntu is libjack0.100.0-0
and there is no 0.8 source for Dapper yet.

Any idea how to get around the problem without messing up my system??

They are pretty stable mostly, but occasionally one of us does make some mistakes. But you can always try an older build. With the next Pd-extended release, there will be an Ubuntu package.

unfortunately it doesn't work

I got the same error saying:

and I checked that the libjack file does exist under /usr/lib.

I'll wait to see the next release.

I've tried the pd-0.40-2. With ./configure it tells that no tcl header found.
After installing tcl (yum install tcl installs tcl 8.4) it's the same thing.
Any ideas
