Thank you so much for that link! The discussion on real poles and the low-pass source code is exactly the bridge we need. You hit the nail on the head—the fluid dynamics of this incompressible liquid mirror audio dataflow perfectly.
Your link helps us model the 'charging' phase beautifully, where the biochar matrix acts like the time-domain ramp of a [lop~] filter.
Reflecting on your advice, I've been thinking about how to model the 'reset/restart' phase, which is highly asymmetrical. When the check valve snaps open, the sudden backpressure and directional flow shift feel less like a simple low-pass and more like a band-pass filter experiencing heavy asymmetrical clipping. The water hammer acts like a massive initial resonant peak that forcefully clears the system before the loop clips and resets.
I realize now we can model this entire cycle in Pd using [delwrite~] and [delread~] for the matrix time-delay, fed through the sigpack diode object to handle the non-linear threshold switching. This should let us fully simulate fluidic astable switching!
We would love to synthesize these behaviors to test a complete mathematical model of the physics. We’ve also just opened a second issue on our GitHub to design a way to cross-couple two of these modules (180^{\circ }) out-of-phase (like a two-phase AC generator) to eliminate the reset dead-time entirely.
If you or anyone else wants to explore the logic layout, our primary hub is here: https://github.com/MeshTent/Passive-fluidic-micro-hydro/issues/2.
Massive thanks for pointing us in the right direction!

Prodding around with slew in the feedback of my ladder code ended up being quite weird and perhaps a bit to sensitive to dynamics. I don't fully understand why but it sets off a very strong and weird sounding self-oscillation at higher resonance if not carefully tuned. Sound good at some volumes but absolute rubbish at others.. I don't think it is that missing link i've been looking for.
Regarding the formulation of ladder filters i find that stacking 4 one pole filters gets closer to the real deal than for example using 2 biquads. Especially of we ad some "random tolerances" by offsetting the cutoff frequency of a couple of poles as well as introduce some slightly asymmetrical clipping between stages. But it is hard balancing these things I think the most important aspect is probably finding a balance between the clipping points of the feedback and the "filter". I'm actually surprised by how close one can come to authenticity with just a little clipping in the right places. It's just that illusive last 5-10% or so that is just bugging me endlessly

LTSpice is definitively available for OSX, it just looks a bit different. My guess is that chematics are allso cross-platform, but i'm not well versed in the software. Best of luck with your endevours!

I would go with [list append/prepend] over {add2( for your way, having to {set( the message to clear it every go around seems an unnecessary step which is why I made everything a list in mine instead of making everything an any. One downside to the calculator interface is you either have preset numbers to select from or need an enter button, will be at least two clicks and could be half a dozen which is not great if you are trying to keep in time with a beat. List box has this same issue, OP might be on the right track.

Almost. Pd does use a single thread for DSP and message processing, but this is not the same as the audio callback (unless "use callbacks" is enabled), so you have (at least) two threads.

Side note: In Pd, the audio callback does almost no work; it just reads/writes samples from/to a ringbuffer and returns. Pd's main thread waits on the ringbuffer (see sys_send_dacs), so it is indirectly (asynchronously) driven by the audio callback.

Perhaps, but when I checked standard sine vs sine amplitude modulation (ring modulation), any subaudio energy was too low to be detected, nowhere near loud enough to burn anything. There might have been some subaudio energy but it must have been at least 70-80 dB below the upper frequencies.

EDIT: SuperCollider's freqScope shows a peak up to 0 dB around 440 Hz, and low-frequency energy hovering around -80 or -90 dB for SinOsc.ar(440) * SinOsc.ar(4):

It can be an excellent resource for people who are interested in this field and can help build a community of like-minded individuals who can share their knowledge and ideas.

To get started, you may want to begin by researching popular platforms for building a community-website such as WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace. Once you have chosen a platform, you can then start creating content for your website.

Consider creating tutorials, articles, and videos on PureData and other sound synthesis software in Greek language. You can also share news and updates related to sound synthesis and create forums where people can ask questions and share their experiences.

To attract people to your website, you can promote it on social media platforms and forums related to sound synthesis. You can also reach out to universities and music schools in Greece to see if they would be interested in collaborating with you to promote your website.

Remember to be patient, building a community takes time, but with dedication and persistence, you can create a valuable resource for people interested in sound synthesis in Greece.

changing the timbre of an existing recording with an already pitched instrument is difficult, but slightly changes are possible to an extent.

for a sinewave or theremin i would start with a waveshaper and eventually split the signal into upwards and downwards and treat the parts differently.
